I am very interested in moments often overlooked or unnoticed. I focus on the existing beauty of structures in our everyday environment and ask the viewer to look up and see what otherwise might be taken for granted.
Each one of my pieces is an individual landscape with a narrative that tells a unique story. Using the interplay of buildings, light and shadow my work describes how houses, factories, office buildings and sky all fit together.
I work in acrylic on masonite.
My background is commercial art, and I am an award winning illustrator. My work has appeared in magazines and newspapers across the country including BusinessWeek, The New York Times and The Washington Post, book covers for Viking Penguin and Scholastic, as well as numerous children’s books.
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parson School of Design.
